ITINERARY           

Your 9-Day Safari and Beach Holiday will commence with viewing large African elephant’s herds, lions, zebras and giraffes in one of the most beautiful Tanzania national park Tarangire. Thereafter we will explore the beautiful scenery of Ngorongoro national park where you will get to visit the Ngorongoro crater which is the ‘Eden of Africa’. You will also visit one of the most iconic national park in Tanzania which is the Serengeti. Thereafter you will take a flight to Zanzibar and explore the beautiful ancient island.

Scarface safaris will ensure that you experience the best and magical moment during your 9-Day Safari and Beach Holiday and have a wonderful time where you will get to see, a hunt in the wild life, a mother protecting its cub or calf, old-aged baobab trees, vast herds of wildebeest’s morning and afternoon, beautiful sceneries of grass plains, you will also get to enjoy bush breakfast and bush lunch while enjoying the beautiful view of wildlife.

DAY-1 ARRIVAL (KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT)

On your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be received by our ground handling team at Kilimanjaro International Airport with board that has your name, then you will be picked up from the airport to the hotel [it takes 1hrs to 30minutes to reach Arusha region] where you will spend the night at Gran Melia

However, along the way to Arusha you may get to see some fascinating features such as, the view of Africans highest mountain Kilimanjaro (from KIA), large coffee farms and rice farms, domesticated donkeys, local houses and different tribes like the Maasai tribe where you will also get explanations on the different lifestyles of the tribes along the way. Moreover, you may get to see the view of Mt. Meru.

DAY-2 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

In the morning after warm breakfast [around 7:30am], our representative, a professional guide will arrive at the hotel and inform the receptionist that he is waiting for you. After meeting up with your driver, you will start your safari heading to Tarangire national park and by 10:00 am you will reach the park On this two-hour drive, you will get a chance to see the remote areas of Tanzania especially seeing the beautiful and one of the biggest art galleries, African art gallery, then you may spot animals corridor before reaching Makuyuni, moreover the beautiful Kisongo plain grass land as well as Arusha airport and absolutely during the journey you will see local houses especial Maasai houses and this will make one of the exciting safaris.

 It is an endless experience to visit Tarangire because of the huge baobab trees highest density of elephant (home of elephant), Perennial Tarangire River, and Over 500 species of birds (East Africa best birding destination), Palm trees little luck you can spot pythons. Furthermore, the park is also home to buffalos, tree climbing lions, zebras and wild beasts which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions, leopards and etc. on arrival to Tarangire national park we will have 10 minutes break for the washroom at the entrance, while guide complete legal formalities at the park authority before starting our game drive. After an intensive game drive, we will have lunch break at Matete picnic site while watching beautiful scenic view which is a better way to enjoy lunch, sitting in a park overlooking elephant and other wildlife. You will spend the night at Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge

DAY-3 NGORONGORO TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After a hot and delicious breakfast, our professional driver guide will be ready to pick you up, from Karatu Farm of dream lodge to start our game drive to the African Garden of Eden. The crater is known for its high concentration of exciting animals, in no time you will be witnessing more spectacular sites. Ngorongoro crater is almost 600m deep, approximately 20km wide, and the massive caldera is home of amazing variety of animals, the park was of declared by UNESCO as World Heritage Site in 1979. Ngorongoro is unique to the fact that is largest and broken, inactive, unfilled caldera in the world with diameter approximately 9km (12 miles). It is an endless experience because of all different kind of mammals ranging from the big five, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard-to giraffe and Thomson gazelle. Over 500 bird’s species Human co-existence with wild animals among of the seventh’s world wonders and other wildlife. Later on we will drive back to Serengeti national park and you will spend the night at Serengeti Signature tented camp.

DAY 4-5 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

 It is an endless experience to visit Serengeti because, despite being the largest national park in Tanzania which stretches over 14763km2 (located entirely in Eastern Mara region) it is famously known for its largest animal migration of over hundreds of thousands of wild beasts and zebras and smaller herds of gazelles, it also has a diversity of habitats and landscapes – short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps and lakes. Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the grassy landscape where predators are often seen

Our professional guide will try to find the animals that you are mostly interested in, including the ‘big five’. During lunch time you will visit the Serengeti visitor centre where you will be offered a lunch box and provided with lots of interesting information especially history of the park and animals such as cheetahs and rhinos as you enjoy nature around you.

During your tour in Serengeti national park, on the 4th day you will spend the night at Serengeti Signature tented camp and on the 5th day you will take a flight to Zanzibar spend the night at Z Hotel.

DAY-6 ZANZIBAR SAFARI BLUE

Safari blue trip in Zanzibar is one among the best adventures in Zanzibar Iisland, not only sailing along with the traditional dhow but also you can have snorkelling, swimming and relaxing on the white sand beach. During the safari you will you will get to explore the mangrove lagoon hidden inside kwale island (swimming in to the protected mangrove forest at high tide is unforgettable experience) this mangrove lagoon is famously known as natural swimming pool. The 200 years baobab tree is another beautiful attraction and the best part is that you can climb it and get a great view from the top. With some luck you may get to see some dolphins in the area. During the safari blue you will get to taste plenty of sea foods.

 DAY-7 SPICE FARM TOUR AND STONE TOWN TOUR

Spice Tour in Zanzibar is a 2 to 3 hours guided tour within a spice and tropical fruits plantation. During the tour you will get to discover the interesting and assorted range of spices and fruits that grow here. You will also be given the opportunity to taste several delicious tropical fruits. Being able to learn and see the various herbs, spices and rare species of plants that grow in Zanzibar is quite intriguing as you will never have heard or seen them before, let alone tasted them. You may not know that Zanzibar is commonly also referred to as the Spice Island, and this is why this tour makes a lot of sense. It sheds light on the interesting history of Zanzibar in this field. Since this is a guided tour you can expect a detailed and interesting explanation from the guide about these spices and plants, including what they are used for, how they are grown and so on.  You could also see a coconut climber at work, among various other unique scenes that can only be experienced in a spice plantation. You will be to buy some fresh spices by the end of the tour.

Stone town of Zanzibar also known as ‘Mji Mkongwe’, is the old part of Zanzibar City, the main city of Zanzibar, in Tanzania. The newer portion of the city is known as Ng’ambo, Swahili for ‘the other side’. The Stone Town is located on the western coast of Unguja, the main island of the Zanzibar Archipelago.

 During the stone town tour you will have several stops such as, the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe), Mizingani Rd, Stone Town, Zanzibar City Tanzania where you will see the place that was used as a prison and the traditional handcraft. You will then have another stop at House of Wonders (Beit-el-Ajaib), Mizingani Rd, Stone Town, Zanzibar City Tanzania where you will see the old brunze guns which were captured by perssians by year 1622, also you will see Zanzibar old curved doors and others preserved old items like dhows. Another stop will be at Old Slave Market/Anglican Cathedral, Mkunazini Road, Stone Town, Zanzibar City Tanzania Our guide will guide through the area to see the slave monuments and tomb of Edward Steers. Our professional guide will lead you to another stop as you keep enjoying your adventure.

 DAY-8 JOZAN FOREST

Jozani Forest is the only national park on Zanzibar. Very small, only 50 km2 (19 sq mi) but a beautiful and tranquil place to visit! Jozani forest is a natural pharmacy, an amazing source of natural remedies! Every plant or tree cures something. What is so beautiful about Jozani forest tour is that height of the trees and the palms are just outstanding!

Jozani is also famous for rare red Colobus monkeys and even harder to spot – Zanzibar Sykes’ monkey, a very rare monkey species unique to Zanzibar. Along with Red Colubus Monkeys you can expect to see Bushbaby, 50 different species of butterflies and 40 species of birds.

DAY-9 PRISON ISLAND AND FLIGHT BACK HOME

This is the last day of your safari and you will reflect back on all the beautiful memories that you have created with us while exploring the prison island.

Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island or Quarantine Island, is located in Zanzibar Archipelago at 5 km North West from Stone Town, Zanzibar. We will sail from Zanzibar and after 30-45 minutes we will dock at the Shore of Prison Island. There, in the coral reef in shallow waters, you can observe beautiful star fishes, and collect a magnific shells as souvenirs.

As part of your guided tour on Prison Island, we will visit the tortoise reservation and you’ll be able to observe, interact and feed the tortoises. Very calm and friendly reptiles, they can be fed by hand. You can also make small donations to the reservation to protect the giant tortoises of Prison Island Zanzibar.

After visiting the giant tortoise reservation, we will guide your steps to the Old Prison building of Prison Island. Even if it’s called like that, it was never used as a prison, instead it was used as a quarantine station for yellow fever cases.
