Tanzania Lodge Safari Packages Description

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara

Itinerary:

  • After breakfast, proceed to Lake Manyara for a full-day game drive. Nestled below the majesty of the Rift Valley wall, the park features a thin green band of forest, flanked by the towering 600-meter high red and brown cliffs of the escarpment on one side and the white-hot shores of an ancient soda lake on the other. Acacia woodland shelters the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, often seen resting among the branches in the heat of the day. In the evening, drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

Main Destination: Lake Manyara

Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti

Itinerary:

  • After breakfast, with a packed lunch, depart from the lodge in Karatu and head towards Serengeti, with an optional stop at Olduvai Gorge. Continue to Serengeti for an afternoon game drive. Known for its dense population of leopards and lions, Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest and most famous park, renowned as one of the world’s last great wildlife refuges. The name Serengeti means “endless plains.” Later, drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti

Itinerary:

  • After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti. Witness the annual migration, where more than a million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras, and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles trek to new grazing lands, followed by predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. During this migration, over 8,000 calves are born daily, and many fall prey to predators. Enjoy lunch in the middle of the wilderness before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Itinerary:

  • After an early breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for a game drive into the Ngorongoro Crater. This vast caldera, measuring 260 square kilometers and 600 meters deep, is known for its stunning scenery and abundant wildlife, earning it a reputation as one of the natural wonders of the world, often referred to as the “Eden of Africa.” Enjoy your picnic lunch at the Ngoitoktok Springs picnic site. Later, drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Karatu to Arusha

Itinerary:

  • After breakfast, depart from Karatu to Arusha in time for early flights.
